Authentication

When interacting with the Delivery Service, a token is used for authentication. It serves as a secure and unique identifier that allows you to access licensed content and perform authorized actions. Treat tokens as a confidential key. Safeguarding tokens help maintain the security of your account and the data you have licensed.

Receiving a Token

A token is required to use for the Delivery API. You can request a token through the Healthwise token service using your client ID and secret. Contact your Healthwise representative to get your client credentials.

Note

Healthwise tokens expire after 24 hours.

Embed Codes

An embed code can be used in lieu of a token to embed Delivery Service calls on a website. This eliminates the need to make a backend call to generate a secure token. Embed codes are protected by being locked down to only domains which you have specified. Contact your Healthwise representative to get an embed code.
